Distemper Painting

Class Description

Distemper uses rabbitskin glue as a binder with pure pigments to make a water-soluble paint that dries quickly in a matte finish. Though little practiced today, it was used widely in Tibetan Buddhist painting from the 13th-century. In this class you'll learn about its history and get a hands-on introduction to its unique usage of materials.
