Class Description
Let your voice be heard! We invite featured poets to read some of their work while other creatives are welcome to join our spoken word open mic. Sign up is at 6:45pm. This ongoing series is curated by Laura Salvatore. This month features readings by Holden Davies, Liam McLean and Blake Z. Rong. Holden Davies is a multi-hyphenate creative living and working in NYC. Publications include their chapboook "Apartment 61" in GenrePunk Magazine, as well as art and writing in The Lunar Journal, Marrow Magazine, Beyond Queer Words, and OyeDrum Magazine, among others. When not writing, they are making music with alt-folk trio The Wife and Kids, available on all streaming platforms. They hold an MFA in Poetry from City College of New York. Liam McLean is a Brooklyn-based poet, currently pursuing his MFA in Creative Writing at the City College of New York. His poetry has appeared in The Gravity of the Thing, dadakuku, and The /tεmz/ Review. You can find him on Instagram at @daydreamsforthepeople. Blake Z. Rong is a writer whose work has been published in Brazenhead Review, SLANT, Tupelo Quarterly, New Mexico Review, and others. He is the author of the poetry collection I Am Not Young And I Will Die With This Car In My Garage (Atmosphere Press, 2021). He is an alumnus of the DISQUIET International Literary Program in Lisbon, Portugal, and the recipient of an Honorable Mention in Tom Howard/John H. Reid Fiction & Essay Contest. He holds an MFA from the Vermont College of Fine Arts and now lives in Brooklyn with a very sweet cat.
